The Retreat Oulton Aylsham Norfolk UK Contact 01263 584287
Set deep in the heart of the Bure Valley area of North Norfolk, The Retreat is surrounded by picturesque Norfolk countryside. The property is a rural idyll with its own private gardens for holiday visitors to enjoy, extending to over half an acre. The garden includes an old English woodland, replete with snowdrops, daffodils and bluebells in spring, along with old-fashioned apple trees, full of blossom in spring, and fruit in autumn. Contrasting the traditional woodland area is a contemporary gravel garden which has been professionally designed by a landscape gardener.
The area around The Retreat is a wildlife haven, with many small birds to be enjoyed all year round. A colony of long tailed tits is never far from the garden and can often be admired at close range. To the east of The Retreat is open farm land, in which deer and buzzards are occasionally seen. It is the regular hunting ground of barn owls, which sometimes fly directly over the garden.
The Retreat has a south and west facing aspect, and its very own patio area, complete with table and chairs. It is a veritable sun trap, where it is possible to eat outside not only in the summer, as it catches the warmth from the spring and autumn sun.
"The property enjoys a peaceful location within easy distance of the coast and local attractions... The well tended gardens set a positive first impression on arrival." Visit Report - Quality in Tourism (April 2010)
